II. Avant-Garde Painting Competition
A space for the bold, decisive, and unconventional. Here, everything that breaks habitual frameworks and offers new forms, meanings, and languages of visual expression is welcomed. The nominations cover a wide spectrum of directions — from modernism, suprematism, futurism, and rayonism to neo-expressionism, pop art, conceptualism, surrealism, abstractionism, fantasy, visionary and naive art, esotericism, and interior avant-garde.
Nominations:
Classical Avant-Garde
- Avant-Garde — art that anticipates its time, rejects traditions, and blazes new trails in painting.
- Modernism — the search for new forms and expressive means, a break with academic canons in the name of freedom of self-expression.
- Suprematism — the pure art of geometric forms and color relationships, where meaning is born from simplicity and contrast.
- Futurism — the energy of movement, speed, technological progress, and the dynamics of the modern world, conveyed through painting.
- Rayonism — the depiction not of objects themselves, but of streams of light and reflected rays that form a visible image.
- Constructivism — art as engineering, where form is subordinated to function and composition is built on clear geometric structures.
Post- and Neo-Directions
- Neo-Expressionism — a return to emotional, spontaneous, and often dramatic painting, where feeling is more important than harmony.
- Impressionism — the art of the moment, the play of light and color, the transmission of atmosphere and emotions through lively, vibrating brushstrokes.
- Pop Art — the art of the everyday, where the visual language of advertising, comics, and mass culture becomes an artistic statement.
- Conceptualism — painting in which idea and meaning are more important than the visual image, and the work becomes an intellectual gesture.
- Surrealism — the world of dreams, the subconscious, and the irrational, where reality intertwines with fantasy, giving birth to unexpected images.
- Abstractionism — the liberation of form from objecthood, where color, line, and stain become an independent language of art.
Fantasy and Metaphysical Directions
- Fantasy Art — worlds created by imagination: from dark art to epic fantasy and horror, where reality gives way to fiction.
- Visionary Art — painting born from inner contemplation, spiritual experiences, and states of altered perception.
Esotericism and Mysticism — art turned toward the mysteries of being, sacred symbols, hidden meanings, and spiritual practices. - Naive Art — a sincere, direct view of the world, free from academic rules, yet full of warmth and simplicity.
